Professor Rajan Mathur, resides in Delhi with his activist wife Roma. He comes across a young boy Numair Qazi who introduces himself as a victim of communal riots in Gujarat. Feeling pity, Rajan offers him shelter in his house and soon becomes close to him.

Little does Rajan know that Numair is actually a suicide bomber commissioned by a Muslim fundamentalist group to blow up the Red Fort in Delhi on 15th August during the Independence Day celebrations.
