In this disc Amjad Ali Khan's music reflects some of many influences that have enriched the North Indian Classical music tradition: folk music, popular music, Middle Eastern music and the music of South India.

By combining the rigorous discipline of classical technique with the lyricism of non-classical music he shows how the classical tradition has remained alive and in touch with other traditions since the immemorial and demonstrates again his own genius and versatility as a creative artist.
