Oh Chak De is a compilation of various tracks beginning with “Nakhra Janab Da,” an ingenuous song mixing the voices of Indian singer Sardool Sikander with Jay-Z. Combining traditional Indian music with the hip-hop elements of Jay-Z’s “Can I Get A...” into an invigorating mix (this song should be a club hit.) “Makhna” also takes the same approach mixing the vocals of PDM with rapper Don Dee to a likable conclusion as does Johnny Zee’s “Hoon To Main Nachna.” The rest of this compilation consists of more traditional Indian fare with some modern dance elements thrown in and, while pleasant, they do not rise above the meter. — Simon Cantlon: AMG EXPERT
