His Holiness Acharya Goswami Gokulotsavji Maharaj is an eminent member of the Vallabha sampraday, a Vaishnava sect whose temples resound with devotional songs and instrumental music dedicated to the deity Lord Krishna.

A trained classical singer as well as a religious leader, Gokulotsavji Maharaj has fully imbibed the spirit of this ancestral tradition; and he has enriched the legacy of his forefathers by creating a large number of compositions of his own bearing the pen-name "Madhur Piya". This recording features a selection of such compositions in the Khayal and tarana styles.
